Guidebook on child rights and participation in ASEAN

A "Guidebook on Spaces for Children's Participation in ASEAN" has been published by the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development, a regional human rights organisation with 46 member-organisations across Asia, in collaboration with Child Rights Coalition Asia (CRC Asia)

The book is intended for children and young people as well as adult child rights advocates. It is hoped that this material will help them understand ASEAN and encourage them to come up with ideas how children can be involved in its work to promote and protect children’s rights.

It features introductions to both ASEAN and  Child Participation. In both discussions, concrete examples of spaces and activities that children have tried out before and those that can be explored in the future have been highlighted.

The book is also a handy compendium of information on the ASEAN National Secretariat,  Committee of Permanent Representatives,  Representatives to the Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC), and Representatives to the Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR).
